Live Inspired Psychotherapy began in March 2022 in London, Ontario. I relocated to Guelph, Ontario in 2024. Formerly known as Live Inspired Art Therapy, I have rebranded to emphasize my core focus on psychotherapy, art therapy being one of many modalities I use in my work with clients.
Avery Cyr, Registered Psychotherapist #10863, DTATI
Avery is a Registered Psychotherapist and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#10863). She graduated from the University of Guelph in Honours Psychology and has worked extensively in the mental health field. She works with both adults and youth (16+) and provides an inclusive space for marginalized communities such as 2SLGBTQIA+ and Indigenous folks.
Avery has extensive experience helping people struggling with post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, abuse, chronic pain, and ADHD. People would describe Avery as gentle, grounded, and attuned. She’s skilled at helping her clients feel safe and accepted no matter what they’ve lived through. She empowers her clients by teaching them about the relationship between their nervous system, their emotions, and thoughts. This is especially important when processing overwhelming life events such as traumas.
When words are not enough, Avery can also help her clients get in tune with their deeper feelings and needs by combining talk therapy with somatic work and expressive arts. These approaches are especially helpful in teaching clients how to calm their nervous systems, contain flashbacks, and ground themselves when they feel trapped by negative thoughts, anxiety, or disturbing memories.
Avery believes that you are the expert on you and will work with you to discover which approach is best for you. Her goal is to help you develop your inner-strengths, -wisdom and -resources so that you feel empowered on your healing journey long after therapy is over.
Avery is trained in talk therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in addition to somatic work and art therapy. She has completed specialized training in Integrative Somatic Parts Work (Level 1) which combines aspects of Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing. She is also certified in Guided Bilateral Drawing for Trauma Healing which is a process similar to EMDR.
When she’s not in the therapeutic space, you can find Avery exploring nature, attending yoga classes, creating art, dancing, reading or spending time with her partner and two cats Sol and Luna.
My approach is rooted in the belief that true healing requires integrating mind and body, allowing embodied wisdom to emerge. I am passionate about working with individuals experiencing:
Mind/Body Approach
I believe that healing from trauma and managing everyday struggles often requires more than just thinking or talking about them. Clients can access deeper understanding and healing by connecting to the body’s wisdom through somatic practices and/or creative expression.
Sacred Practice
Therapy is seen as a sacred practice and a commitment to personal care. I provide a safe space where clients can experience their natural unfolding, supporting them as they grow and transform. The journey of therapy extends beyond the sessions, fostering continuous movement toward and away from tricky growth edges.
At Live Inspired Psychotherapy, I aim to support individuals in their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and transformation. By embracing creative expression and embodied wisdom, I aim to help clients navigate their emotional landscapes and find balance in their every day lives.
If you are ready to embark on a journey of healing and growth, I invite you to connect with me. Explore Live Inspired Psychotherapy and take the first step toward a more balanced and inspired life.
